Phew, I feel like we never stop! Sorry it has taken me so long to write again, but I have been traveling again for quite some time now. After the Native sun show we went to several different trade shows and met some really great people! It was so nice to be able to meet ecologically interested mothers at the American Baby Faire. We also had several winners for our contest drawings, and they all won a bunch of new clothes! Congrats to all the winners. We also just found out we will be featured in an upcoming issue of Earnshaw’s! How exciting!!!

We are currently holding a baby photo contest for the cutest baby, the winners will be posted on our website and hopefully we can work together in the future as we will need new models for our Fall and Spring collections. Now that we have all of these trade shows done it is almost time again to begin production for our Spring line… which means off to India once again. We are so excited to see where these new lines may take us. Thank you for all of your continued support in this exciting Journey, as always please feel free to contact us with any suggestions!

Earth Day at Native Sun

Wow! We were so excited to participate in the First Annual Native Sun Earth Day Festival! The turn out was amazing and it was so great to see so many people interested in ways that they could help the earth! There were many participants that wanted to help inform the public of ways that they could help the earth. A few of these were environmentally friendly water bottles, some specialty plants, and even one informing the public on water filtration. We asked the people who came by our booths to give us ideas on ways to be environmentally friendly while having fun. Several people gave us commonly thought of activities such as recycling and cleaning up the community by picking up trash, however some visitors reminded us that outdoor activities are good for the earth as well! They suggested activities such as biking, playing outside and gardening. Not only are these activities great for the environment, because of lack of electricity needed, but they are also great for our minds and bodies as well! What a great way to help the earth and still have fun! We also held a raffle and our winner won a beautiful gift basket full of Sama Baby gifts. Today is Earth Day

Today is Earth Day, one of my favorite days of the year! Since the heart and soul of Sama Baby is preserving the earth, this day is very dear to our hearts. Locally we are participating in Native Sun Earth Day event on Saturday where we will be offering prizes and give aways as well as promoting the concept of Organic Cotton. On Saturday we will also be providing literature on Organic Cotton and the importance of organic products in such a toxic world. Sama Baby urges all to go as green as possible for this special day. We want to spread this wonderfully earth friendly fabric to as many people as possible. If you are in Jacksonville on Saturday we would love for you to drop by! Please contact us with any questions. Organic Trade Show
I was so excited to be able to participate in this expo for the second year. Our booth was a lot easier to put up this year and looked even cuter with our new samples! We met some great people at this expo and we were so happy to share information on organic cotton. I just love sharing green information with people, it is so exciting to share something I am so passionate about! I also was lucky enough to have my co-founder and mom there to help me along with one of our designers, my sister! I included some pictures from the Expo. So much fun! I am finally back home though and beginning the work on our holiday line, so be on the lookout for some great events coming soon!

Reporting from India
So India was enchanting as usual. I am very excited because our partners in India are as dedicated as we are to being sustainable throughout the whole process. The factories we use are powered by solar panels and supplement their power needs with wind turbines and windmills. This investment in and use of alternative energy sources is significant not only to India , but to the rest of the world as well. I know I have said this before but I sincerely believe that if we think globally and act locally we can make a difference in the world. I was also very excited to see samples of our FALL LINE!!! World Traveler
So I am back at home for only a few days before I head off to India to check on how our production is going. I am very excited to see the factories and speak with the manufacturers. I am also planning on bringing back some pictures so I can share some of the things that have inspired our lines. Also as soon as I return we will be attending Expo West, so be on the look out for us there as well as pictures and more info coming soon!

I am so excited to be getting an opportunity to participate in some workshops at F.I.T. in New York City. Everyone knows that NYC is the fashion Mecca so where better for Sama to be? I am excited to work with the experts that F.I.T. offers and transfer this into increased luxury for our customers. I will be there during January and February so keep a look out for news and pictures! Happy Holidays everyone!

New York City
Phew! So sorry it has been so long since I have updated you guys! New York is definitely one hustle and bustle of a city. Not only have I been gaining fabulous insight into designing, I am gathering lots of inspirations for my next line! I have been attending workshops at F.I.T. and these teachers are amazing. I have also been able to meet with some great people while I have been here! I have met with Cookie, American Baby, Earnshaw’s and a few others. Exciting news is we are going to be in the March issue of Parent’s! Everyone in New York is great and this is such a fabulous experience. Here are some Photo’s I have so far.
